Enable the mission

Founded in 2007 and rooted in the Jewish War Veterans movement, CSS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

From the Community. For the Community.

Community Security Service (CSS) is a national, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to protecting Jewish life. We provide free security training, guidance, and resources that empower Jewish communities to protect themselves.

CSS
Synagogue

Congregants of all denominations receive security education and learn to form professional-grade volunteer security teams at their synagogues, conducting access control, detecting and reporting suspicious activity, and coordinating with law enforcement.

CSS
Events

Young adults deploy to protect Jewish events of every size across major US cities. Requiring qualified applicants to complete one of our most advanced training programs, CSS Events offers meaningful engagement with the Jewish community while providing professional-grade event security coverage.

CSS
Campus

Jewish college students are trained in self-defense (Krav Maga), de-escalation, and security awareness through one of two CSS Campus programs that are delivered in partnership with Hillels and Chabad on Campus, as well as national campus organizations.

CSS
Academy

Experienced CSS members complete immersive, multi-day leadership courses, certifying them to train and lead other volunteers within their own community, ensuring our impact is scalable, sustainable, and owned by local communities around the country.
